Obituary announcement for Ruth Negus wife of club member Clyde Negus LM245

NEGUS, Ruth Elaine (Archibald) - March 1, 1939 - July 20, 2017 Ruth passed away peacefully at Providence Care on July 20th. Born in Upper Stewiacke, N.S. Ruth was the daughter of the late Harold and Miriam Archibald. Graduating from the Nova Scotia Hospital of Nursing in 1960 she enjoyed her career working at hospitals in Fredericton, N.B., Pembroke, ON, K.G.H. and Hotel Dieu in Kingston. Ruth enjoyed organizing and hosting parties, reading, the Blue Jays, but especially quilting. She spent many hours in the sweat shop (as her husband Clyde called it) quilting with her friends. She loved making quilts for her family and friends. Ruth was the beloved wife of Clyde for 56 years, proud mother of Kevin (Eva) and Patricia Mathewson. She was the loving grandmother of Scott, Amy (Justin) Leeder and Mitchell. Delighted G.G. to Mackenzie and a caring sister to Laurie and Helen. She was predeceased by brothers Lloyd and Bruce. Following cremation at the James Reid Crematorium, a Celebration of Ruth's life will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME , 1900 John Counter Blvd. at 11 am on Thursday August 3rd. There will be a visitation prior starting at 10 am to 10:50 am. There will be a reception held in the Reception Centre following the service. A special thank you to friends and family for helping Ruth along this journey. Also thanking many health care professionals and volunteers who were there to ease the way. In remembrance of Ruth, donations to the Lung Cancer Society Canada or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. There will be an interment service at Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke, Col. Co. N.S. at 2 pm on Saturday, August 5th.13194747
