HIGGINS, Alexander D.W. (Sandy) - An honorable soldier died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Caroline (2007). Loving father of Lorrain Hayes and Dale (Kim). Cherished Papa of Richele, Ryan, Corey and Cody. Dear brother of Shirley Wilde and Alda Burbidge. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by sisters Colleen and Mary Lou. Sandy was in the Canadian Military until 1968, thereafter returning to Niagara Falls to work at Canada Post as a letter carrier until his retirement. Sandy's humor will continue on and he will be sadly missed. Our love for him will live on. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., please gather at the front gates of Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. Reception to follow at MORSE & SON EVENT CENTRE , 5929 Main St. from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Tender Wishes Foundation.
